Laura Spector teaches at Glasscock School For Continuing Studies at Rice University and Art League Houston. She is a Fellow of the New York Foundation for the Arts and an Individual Grant Recipient of Houston Art Alliance. She has exhibited at ArtPrize8 at Grand Rapids Art Museum (2016), FotoFest 2014 and Lawndale Center for the Art's "Big Show" (2017 & 2013). Her artwork has been published in “The Harvard Review,” Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! and in the book, The Real Real Thing: The Model in the Mirror of Art, by Wendy Steiner. Spector has studied fine art at both The Flemish Classical Atelier and Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2016, she was a resident artist in Germany at AtelierHaus Hilmsen, and was a presenter at The Representational Art Conference in 2014, alongside Odd Nerdrum and Roger Scruton. Her artwork can be seen in exhibitions and collections around the world.
